Most recently I worked as the food editor of CHOW.com. Prior to CHOW, I worked as a recipe writer and tester, food stylist, and journalist at The New York Times Magazine and The New York Times Style Magazine. While at the Times, I had a cooking show, “Kitchen 4B” (formerly “Tiny Kitchen”), which is featured on www.nytimes.com. I've had work published in The New York Times 'Travel' and 'Dining In/Dining Out' sections and I contributed monthly to a food column for The Boston Globe. I started my career as a server in Boston, worked in the offices at Chez Panisse Restaurant in Berkeley, California, and eventually moved into the kitchen, where I worked at Max Ultimate Food, Icarus and Ten Tables, all in Boston. I tested recipes for Cooks Illustrated magazine, cooked for the Emmy-nominated PBS cooking show, “Simply Ming”, and taught cooking classes to both children and adults. While an undergraduate at Middlebury College, I started and managed a student-run restaurant, Dolci, which is still in operation today. I am writing my thesis on anchovies to complete a master’s degree in gastronomy from Boston University. I travel often to research food. This website serves as a collection of my work. If there's something else you think I should include, I'm all ears! You can e-mail me: jsantopietro [at] gmail [dot] com all content is, unless otherwise noted, copyright 2010 jill santopietro
